I haven’t had my hair cut by my hairdresser since I graduated college I had a friend trim it once since but I need an in-depth haircut. Add layers get rid of the dead ends bring life back to my hair. My hairdresser knows my hair way better then I do. I’ve also have become a firm believer in finding a salon and stylist that you can trust to keep your hair looking beautiful, but even they can help make suggestions based off you and your life.
Let me tell you a story about how I found my hairdresser and why I’m okay with spending at minimum 55 dollars for a haircut. Since I was 4 maybe 2 my hair was cut by the same two people that my parents and grandmom knew. My family and I would follow these two to each new salon they went too, and one day I had enough. I went in with my brother because he went to get his usual high and tight. It inspired me (not to cut off all my hair but to do something different with it and like I have mentioned before I am not an expert with hair. With this sudden inspiration to do something with this hair, I asked her to do something with it and that I wanted her advice on what to do with my hair. She refused, she told me she wouldn’t touch my hair until I told her what I wanted. I don’t know what I want because I’m afraid of doing something that won’t look right I’m asking the professional to tell me what she thought would look good for me considering that she would know better. I was wrong apparently so I left and went another few months without a haircut.
I had waited long enough at one point and was still pretty salty about being told that I had to know exactly what I wanted to have something done to my hair. At this point, I knew that at a bare minimum I needed a trim. So I knew about a salon nearby and called and was able to get a last minute appointment that evening. Cue my hair saviour Cindy who looks at my head and works magic, after two trims with her she noticed that if she laid my layers differently, it would work better for my type. THIS, This is what I was looking for. Somebody who understood hair enough to notice things that I would not be able to pick up on. I have never been so proud of a life decision Ever.
Now to the present day. When I went and saw Cindy again my hair felt normal again. I am so upset with myself that I waited so long to go back. It was indeed a great moment to come home with hair that felt healthy and looked healthy. I am already excited for my next hair appointment because we will be doing something new and exciting, and I just know it will be okay because I trust Cindy, I trust her knowledge with hair and I have no fears with my hair’s future.
