Luxe for Less

I thoroughly believe in the saying quality over quantity. Because of this I will pay the full price for one name brand leather bag over two “leather” bags from Target. My experience is that the items I spent less on because the quality is lesser usually breaks or tarnishes rather quickly compared to buying something at higher cost from a pricier brand. And when things I buy break or get damaged quickly and easily makes me upset. Why would I waste money on repurchasing the same cheap piece if it’s never going last in the end ill ending up spending the same amount of money on multiples of the same thing versus using that money to buy one item made of higher quality.

Making my point quality over quantity.

Though I am a broke college graduate with student debt and the idea of grad school in the future I can’t afford to constantly buy new things that I want. In return I do look for deals and will go out of my way to find the product that I want at a lower cost. Bringing us to todays post, I am introducing a segment called Luxe for Less. In this segment I will show either a more cost efficient way to buy an item or another item that is equal in quality but significantly lower in price.

A few disclaimers to let you know how this segment will work. I personally have no issues buying second-hand, so beware sometimes I will talk about websites and or stores that give better deals over buying it in store. I refuse to buy fakes, and do not condone the selling or buying of fake or knock off products.

Today’s product I am going to talk about is the basic bag, now I mean tote, cross body, clutch, all bags. I love purses, it’s an item I normally prefer to be made of leather. Now I have bought from Dooney and Bourke and Coach they are fully leather and have never failed me yet. My one coach I have had for 11 years, and yes it looks a little worn but it still works just as strong as the day i bought it. On the flip side I own leather bags that I spent less than 80 dollars a piece on and they are equal in quality but significantly cheaper. I will also admit some of these bags were bought at a leather market in Florence, Italy. This market is called the San Lorenzo Market, and they have so many bag styles and you can bargain the price down to a price that fits your budget. Now not everyone can make it to this market but if you ever get the chance you better because they have so much to offer I already have a list for the next time I visit.

While trying to find local markets in the United States and grumbling about it for a good 15 minutes my mother bless her heart she is a saint, told me about Wilson’s leather. Now it’s a store I have seen but never actually walked into, so I assumed they sold higher priced items, I was very wrong. She told me they are actually an outlet for leather goods. While checking their website out I realized two things, one she is very right, and two be careful, even though they sell leather they also sell faux leather which is not what I was looking for. That goes for all outlet stores, it can sometimes be difficult to find but holding out and making sure the bag is leather in my opinion is worth it.

Though I will pay out for a quality purse never feel that you have to pay full price for something sales are always around the corner and outlets are usually my best friend! Happy Shopping!

Until Next Time Ciao!
