July Favorites

July went by very quickly for me. I embarked on a wonderful vacation to Italy, I started a new job and I decided to start this blog as well. Though I try to post daily updates on here (one day it will happen) I decided to start August off looking back at the things that I Ioved during the month of July.

A few make up products I bought this month really stand out for me. This month I bought 6 (maybe 7?) lipsticks (liquid and regular) but one truly stood out from the rest was the Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick in the color You.Better.Work. As a person who natural goes towards reds and pinks and well more “natural” colors I loved this purple lipstick. It was tame enough where I can where it out and not be questioned about it. Believe it or not people are super judgmental in Southern New Jersey if you do anything or where anything that is not “normal” your father heres about it (even if your 23). Maybe that is just an Italian-American thing. I still have no clue regardless I love this color its just natural enough that I can feel edgy but still not cause too much attention to myself.

Next is the Kat Von D tattoo liquid liner. I know I am late to the party with this product but many moons ago when I was just learning to use make up liquid liner was a mess. It would look wonky and you would have thought I applied my make up on drunk. Because of that I moved onto gel liner which worked better. I recently decided to move back and try the liquid liner again, and since I am working my way into the VIB I am almost there. This purchase is my least regrettable purchase in a long time. The staying power is forever, I fell asleep wearing it woke up the next day touched it up and went to work, I call that a successful purchase. It also lasted an entire plane trip to Venice, Italy from New Jersey I have no complaints on this purchase.

The final favorite beauty product of the month of July is Benefit’s Galifornia Blush. I love this because it was subtle and add just enough color to my face without being over powering. Especially since in the summer my make up is at an all time minimum consisting of basically eyeliner mascara and lip color. This blush added just a little extra color that allowed me to continue on the minimum make up train.

When I went on vacation I had a lot of hair product fails, I officially have come to terms that natural hair products were just not meant for my hair type 😦 as much as this saddens me it is time I move on and give away my lush hair products to someone who will use them love them and appreciate them which is what they deserve. One product while I was on vacation saved my life and made me feel a little more hopeful towards hair products and even using it when I came home got me out of some tight jams before going out with friends and that product was Batiste dry shampoo in tropical. I have used this product plenty times before in the past I just forgot how much I liked it because I have one huge con for it. The product goes so quickly. I feel like one can never last long enough. I definitely get more out of powder dry shampoo but this one truly is worth the short life span.

I also read a very good book this month and if you haven’t read it yet What Are You Waiting For! Now this book left me on the edge the whole time and not in the suspenseful kind of way but more in the Oh my God How can people be life this kind of way. The Circle by Dave Eggers truly gave me fear into social media, and I now become aware if I realize I have been on it for too long. It truly showed me the negative side to all the social media we have let into our lives.

A very big favorite for the month of July was that I got to go to my favorite restaurant in the WHOLE WORLD. Donna Sofia which is located in Sorrento Italy, I tell anyone who can listen to go to this restaurant you will never be disappointed. It is the one restaurant that I never shut up about. Every time i go here to eat the food is fresh and an experience you will never forget. Always get what the owner Mario suggests. Truly a wonderful meal, even if you ever go there once its worth it. Donna Sofia is the meal you will never forget.

On that note I think this pretty much wraps up my favorites for the month of July! So much has happened this month and I feel like I never have enough time. Here is to a successful and hopeful August!

Until Next Time Ciao!
