This Time Around

This Time Around Italy I have come to a few conclusions

  1. I need a new phone plan- The current phone plan I have is still under my parents and beyond the fact that the service sucks when I am at home the company makes it very hard to get an international plan. I need to find a company that will give me a flexible out of country plan, especially since I’m looking at more places to travel in the future.
  2. Buying European centric plugs- Currently I use adapters and convertors. It most certainly would be easier if my phone charger and laptop charger already had the right plug. And the ever beloved hair dryer is more work then necessary when trying to make sure your convertor doesn’t a) blow up your hair dryer or b) blow a fuse in your room.
  3. Learn to pack lighter- I swear I have no concept when I pack. My luggage was 48 pounds when I left the United States. I know for sure that I could have packed less shoes and less make up. though the clothes I used all of them so maybe I cant pack lighter?
  4. Less in my Carry On- I don’t even use half the things I put in my Carry On!
  5. Bring Cash- As convenient using debit cards and credit cards are, cash really still is King. I am always finding myself in a pinch for a physical dollar or two for things like tips or bottles of water. Even splitting bills are harder when nobody has cash.
  6. Leaving the Shampoo and Conditioner at home- I thought bringing the bar shampoo and conditioner from Lush would be helpful but I found my hair not reacting well with it. My hair felt frizzy and dry and no bene. Its sad because I genuinely like the products they sell I just feel like this is something I have to bite the bullet and move past. Next time I will just go to a local store and buy shampoo and conditioner over there. I refuse to bring liquids on the plane.
  7. Find better shoes- As a shoe junkie you would think I could find comfier shoes that still look cute.

So these were the things I have learned from traveling recently and hopefully I learn to fix or be able to adopt on my next trip. Though if you know of any cute shoe recommendations that are also comfortable for walking around and sightseeing (i.e sandals and flats) comment and let me know!

Until Next Time Ciao!
