Missing Days, Humbling Experiences

I know its been a few days but the tail end of my trip was very busy and eventful. I ended up in Rome where I saw all the beautiful sights of Ancient Rome and the Beautiful Vatican City. I mastered the metro system (it really wasn’t hard they only have two lines) and I met family. Rome left me exhausted and so happy to be going to Sorrento.

Yet Rome also left me humbled and happy for small miracles. The day we arrived in Rome I went to dinner with a slightly large group of friends (one was a priest). The priest asked if we would like to see the Vatican. Now I have been there before and it truly is a beautiful building and I almost didn’t go,I thought I’ve seen it before its not a big deal, but I decided I would go and I am glad I did. Not only was the sight of the Vatican at night beautiful, but I learned that the current pope allows the homeless to sleep at Vatican City, and that there were (is?) showers there for them to stay clean.

It was truly a humbling experience, to see that and it really made me grateful about being in another country for vacation. To be able to experience such a wonderful adventure with my friends and family when people go to this same exact place because they have nowhere else to go for the night. Its just a moment that I feel will stick with me.

This moment in my trip reminded me of these small things in life are what need to be cherished and all the things are going wrong are just small matters because at the end of the day, someone has it far worse.
