Food Under the Tuscan Sun

Best freaking Pancakes I have ever had! My word all I want in life right now is more of the pancakes I had for breakfast. They were light fluffy and just enough vanilla in it to make my heart flutter. I wonder if the chef at the hotel would give me his recipe I mean I’ll let him write it in Italian I’ll translate it later I just my word life is not complete until you eat these pancakes.

What was I going to talk about before this life changing breakfast experience? …… oh. My day in Tuscany. What better way to spend a Sunday in Tuscany then trying wine. Exactly

Now before we got to the winery we went to the small beautiful village that just made my heart sing it was so quaint that I wanted to live there. They had several ceramic shops and one of them you could buy patio tables! Now I am not currently in the market (or wallet range) for one, but I was several seconds away from giving away my right arm for one. The view around there as well was just amazing.

Now onto the winery we went to for the tasting. The place we tried the wine wasn’t just what I have been introduced as a wine tasting where you stand at a bar and you try a few varieties and snacks are about the room. No this was an appetizer of cheese arugula and salami. With olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette (made on premises BTW). Then a main course of the family’s grandmothers lasagna recipe I fell in love with it. Call it a life changing pasta experience. Now the man giving us the demonstration hysterical and charismatic. Though I am not a huge fan of dry red wines there were a couple that I enjoyed. The other wonderful thing about this winery is that they only do private sales. Meaning you will never find there products at a grocery store or a liquor store you can only buy it on their website. The other wonderful thing about this winery is that it has been a family owned company since the beginning, no preservatives, and No Sugar! My family and I left with truffle oil, balsamic vinegar, prosecco, and a dessert wine that is just heavenly.

After the tasting we headed back to Florence. Myself and a few friends went to the leather market. Now I left with two quilted leather bags all for under 100 euro! I love the bags, more then I love the bag that I bought there 4 years ago (and I LOVE that bag). The leather market is one of my favorite places in Florence because it is genuine leather so you get the quality you desire without having to pay the fortune it would cost to but it from a retail store.

Finally Dinner, my favorite time of day we went to a restaurant across the street from our hotel and I had a seafood Risotto. MY GOODNESS! It was great. I swear its impossible to have a bad dish in Italy everything I eat is a life changing experience for me. I also got the chance to see who was chosen to play the 13th Doctor. I am very pleased with the decision (All haters can go bugger off!) I have high hopes for the series and think its exactly what is needed to freshen up the series! Well I think that, that this wraps everything up for today so….

Until Next Time Ciao!
